Hamsa, Hand of Fatima

Hamsa, "Hand of Fatima" or "Hand of Mary", is a symbol and an amulet in the shape of a human hand popular especially in the Middle East and North Africa, where it is commonly used as jewelry or as a wall decoration. It depicts the palm of the right hand, which in many societies has been seen as a sign of protection throughout history. Hamsa is therefore supposed to protect from evil eye. That's why this amulet is in some cases decorated with an eye.
